- What is The Link?
The Link is the distance education classroom system that is operated between
244 Kottman Hall in Columbus and 121 Fisher Auditorium in Wooster. The
Link is comprised of a Microwave system which is essentially a television
network and an IP (Internet Protocol) system which makes use of the internet to
send video and audio information.
The Link began operation in 1987 as part the Ohio Public Broadcasting System.
Initially Ohio State was given three time slots to use and classes were often pre-empted
by "Sesame Street." Now The Link operates nearly forty hours per week.
